We can all agree that losing weight is hard, but it can be done if you’re consistent on following the next tips:

1.Cut down on salt

According to Heather Del Baso from Worcester, cutting back on the salt in your diet can help you lose a lot of weight. Whenever you think of a bag of chips for a snack, just walk to the store and the inconvenience will help you ignore the cravings.

2.Order something else

“I used to eat out at restaurants up to nine times a week! By cutting back to just once a week and ordering a grilled chicken salad instead of a large bowl of pasta, I’ve lost 20 pounds in one month!” Kerri Butler from Joplin, MO says.

3.Change your lifestyle

Instead of changing your lifestyle bit by bit (lemon water in the morning, a jog after breakfast or a light meal), try to change your lifestyle as a whole. According to Dr. Marissa Lippert, author of The Cheater’s Diet, this is the main thing to do if you want to lose weight.

4.Instant exercise

“I try to fit in small bouts of exercise whenever possible, like doing jumping jacks or crunches during television commercials or dancing while washing dishes. This burns extra calories and keeps me from mindlessly munching in front of the TV. Now my clothes fit way better, and I’m more toned than ever.” Says Megan Tiscareno from Hammond.

5.Eat 300 calories for breakfast

Skipping breakfast won’t solve the problem. Eat 300 calories for breakfast and add some protein and whole foods in it if you want your energy to last throughout the day.

6.Clean up

“I totally cleaned out my pantry. Once I replaced the foods I used to overindulge in, like ice cream, with lower-cal snacks, such as roasted sunflower seeds or Special K Chocolatey Delight cereal, I began making better choices automatically. Now, I’m slimmer than I was before I had my two kids!” Lori Feldman from Coconut Creek says.

7.Stop smoking

Here’s what Leila Fathi from Memphis has to say about smoking and losing weight: “I quit smoking, and right away joined a gym and started working out with a personal trainer. There was no way I could exercise and feel healthy if I kept lighting up. I’ve already dropped 37 pounds in three months!”

8.Fuel the fire

Load up your favorite songs on your iPod or smartphone and hit the gym – this will motivate you to endure the training and help you lose more weight.

9.Happy healthy hour

“After work, my colleagues and I always grabbed dinner—and it was usually deep-fried. Then we changed things up. Instead of nights out, we started walking and running around a local track. A year later, I’m down 40 pounds.” Ellen Setzer from Cleveland, Ohio says.

10.Shrink your meals

Avoid ordering the large-sized meals when going to a fast food restaurant – just order a small pack of fries and a small burger to lose weight easier.

11.Go for a real jog

“When I wanted to fit into my skinny jeans again, I started running 20 minutes a day during my lunch hour. In two months, I’ve lost 20 pounds, have tons of energy, and just finished my first 5K. Those jeans? They’re too big now!” Lauren Castor from Anniston says.

12.Downward dog is the best thing

“Yoga has become the best thing for my relationship with food and my body. From practicing it several times a week, I’m now more in touch with my hunger cues—so I eat intuitively and stop when I’m full. I’ve gone down a jeans size, and my cellulite has disappeared!” Jessica Nicklos from Morgantown says.

13.Don’t eat after 6:30 PM!

Nighttime eating is your worst enemy – finish with your meals prior to 7 PM and believe us that you’ll be able to lose weight easier.

14.Save calories for dessert

“I budget for the treats I love. By eating healthy snacks like carrots and hummus, I have calories to splurge on a piece of chocolate and glass of wine each night. And I’ve still managed to lose 20 pounds in three months.” Elaine Higginbotham from Fort Worth explains.

15.Eat more vegetables

Veggies are great – just replace the unhealthy toppings on your pizza with vegetables and add them to all your meals and you will reduce your snacks and cravings.

16.Walk with someone you love

Going for a walk with your best friend, partner or your dog will make the promenade more enjoyable and help you lose a lot of weight. You don’t need much – a light 10-15 minute walk every day can certainly help!
