15 Amazing Uses for Aloe Vera That You Must Know

Aloe vera has been used as an effective herbal medicine for at least 2,000 years. Its many uses and benefits are too many to list, but some of the most common and important uses are outlined below.

Applied to a sunburn or minor cuts and scrapes, aloe vera can shorten healing time by as much as eight days. It can also help against burns, blisters, allergic skin rashes, insect bites, and frost bite. This is probably the most common of its many uses and the reason why so many of us keep an aloe plant growing in a pot at our homes.

  1. If you mix aloe vera in with water and drink it, it can help combat gastrointestinal upset, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers, urinary tract infections, and more.
  2. Aloe vera can also function as an effective laxative when ingested.
  3. Boil some aloe vera leaves in a pot of water and breathe in the vapor to help treat bouts of asthma.

  5. It is also effective against pimples, warts, and acne. The warts will actually begin to shrink when aloe is consistently applied to them.
